On one hand you want awesome efficiency and blazing speed, on the other you want some comfort, too. Put your hands together for Felt's phenomenal Z4! This thoroughbred boasts Felt's feathery ultra-high-modulus carbon frameset that's super stiff for sprinting and climbing like you never have before. It's got some tricks up its carbon sleeve, though and you'll revel in the plush, damped ride. To complement the sweet-riding frame you get an outstanding set of wheels with Mavic rims and Shimano's precision 105 components with a compact FSA crank that makes easy work of the hills and powerful dual-pivot brakes for total control. You'll also love the tasty Felt stem, bars, seatpost and the supportive Prologo saddle.

Felt's Z-Series frames are built around a relaxed, compact geometry that's comfortable, stable, and ready to go as fast as you want. The taller head tube allows a more upright riding position, while the longer wheelbase and less aggressive head- and seat-tube angles deliver responsive, confident handling. All the frame tubes are size specific and highly shaped, too, ensuring an optimal ride for every cyclist.

Felt's MMC (Modular Monocoque Construction) method is an advanced carbon manufacturing process that allows Felt to mold individual sections of a frame (see image above) prior to assembly. This allows each frame section to be optimized for its individual requirements before being fused together. The result is a frame with completely integrated joints that offer superior strength, durability and a refined appearance.

    Comments:

I came looking for my first road bike. I want to participate in some century rides and my hybrid was not working for me. I was looking for a carbon frame in the 1200-1500 range. The Z4 was a bit beyond that but I am glad I made the stretch. I have put on 450 miles in the last month and the bike is fantastic. The seat took some adjusting and getting use too. I am not sure if its the seat, my newness to riding, or to much of my seat on the seat. That is my only complaint. I am much faster on this bike, I have done some 50 - 75 mile rides and that was not possible on my hybrid. I will be able to grow into this bike over the next few years as my skill and fitness get better. The folks at Pioneer were fantastic in explaining things to me and helping me decide which ride I should get. There was no pressure and I had a great customer experience.

      Comments:

I was looking for a bike to replace my 30 year old Peugeot steel bike. I wanted something that was comfortable enough to ride on century rides but also fast enough to ride in Sprint triathlons. The Felt z4 was my first choice based on positive reviews that I had read online but I wanted to compare it to other bikes. My LBS was extremely helpful letting me test drive several different models and two different sizes. After buying the z4 my LBS did a full fitting which really made a difference. I couldn't be more pleased with the bike, and the service that I received at the my LBS. I highly recommend both.
