One part luxury liner, two parts rocket ship; Felt's Z5 serves up a heady blend of power and control that'll make every ride a blast! The back-friendly Z5 boasts a feathery high-modulus-carbon frameset that accelerates, climbs, and corners with confidence and also damps road vibrations for ride-all-day compliance. This great road machine is built for action with fast Felt RSL3 wheels, a compact Shimano 105 crankset for spinning up even the steepest climbs, and a host of 11-speed Shimano 105 components for precision shifting, as well as grippy Shimano 105 brakes for easy control. Felt's reliable bars, stem, seat, and dual-pivot brakes ensure rider comfort stays high.
Felt's Z-Series frames are built around a relaxed, compact geometry that's comfortable, stable, and ready to go as fast as you want. The taller head tube allows a more upright riding position, while the longer wheelbase and less aggressive head- and seat-tube angles deliver responsive, confident handling. All the frame tubes are size specific and highly shaped, too, ensuring an optimal ride for every cyclist.
Felt's MMC (Modular Monocoque Construction) method is an advanced carbon manufacturing process that allows Felt to mold individual sections of a frame (see image above) prior to assembly. This allows each frame section to be optimized for its individual requirements before being fused together. The result is a frame with completely integrated joints that offer superior strength, durability and a refined appearance.

Replaced my carbon Trek 5200 (2000) with Felt Z-5. Best decision I made recently. Shimano 105 components compare or better than Ultegra I was used to. Impressed with how responsive the Felt Z-5 is. Definitely recommend going with carbon. Well worth the additional cost. Greatly appreciate being professionally fit as part of my purchase. I would recommend this bike to anyone looking for a quality bike at a great price.

Comments:
This is my first road bike in years, I started cycling in 2011 with a hybrid bike to get my legs and cardio back into shape. I'm extrememly impressed with the Felt Z5 in weight and balance. Once I was professionally fit onto the bike, I can now put down more power, and can carve the corners quite well. I'm going to do my first century ride this month and I have to say, the bike DOES make a difference once you hit a certain performance level. So glad to buy this bike from Folsom Bike as the staff and whole team are fantastic.

Comments:
I have been riding about 2 years around 50 to 80 miles per week, mostly on the weekends. I made the decision over the winter to go from aluminum to carbon with more of a relaxed geometry. I also wanted to go with a full 105 group. After comparing bikes, the Felt Z5 stood out as the best bike for the money. I have not been sorry for my purchase one bit after nearly 500 miles. The only bad thing I can say about the bike is the original saddle was horrible. It may be just personal preference for me but after about 8 miles each ride it became very uncomfortable. I picked up an after market saddle and that solved the comfort problems on the bike. I will say too, that the ride between carbon and aluminum is no comparison. While the weight isn't that big of a deal, the ride quality and ride comfort are like night and day. If you are looking for a new bike I would highly recommend you go full carbon. It will cost a little more, but it is money well spent. I love my Felt Z5 and I hope it's going to serve me well over the coming years.

Compact frame offers great adjustability. Smooth ride. Shifting is precise even while pedaling hard. Good brake effort and feel.
